Next Step project – age 16+
Anyone from Manchester can drop in to use our FREE Next Step project every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 09:30-12:30, all year round. There is a dedicated team of staff and volunteers that help someone with their ‘Next Step’, whether that be getting onto the right benefits, learning to use the computer, learning job related skills, looking for a job or using our support services. Universal Credit Specialist who can help with sanctions and claimant commitments.
Housing Advice can help with housing issues, rehousing, Manchester Move, mutual exchange and arrears.
Self Help for people feeling anxious, stressed, depressed for phobias can get Talking Therapy and CBT sessions.
CV Writing – create or enhance your CV and talk about jobs
Youth Can Do homework club – age 8-16
Anyone from Manchester can drop in to use our FREE Youth Can Do homework club, which has been open for 13 years. It is open every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:15-6:00pm during school term time.
Our team of staff and volunteers provide a safe, nurturing space for children to do their homework including arts and crafts and to take part in our various extra curricular projects. The Youth Can Do homework club project provides: support with homework; support from a Maths teacher, extra curricular workshops and projects, arts and crafts resources, extra learning resources, use of computers and printers. Youth Can Do homework club is an informal, relaxed environment but we still maintain the strictest of Safeguarding procedures and expect the children to adhere to the agreed boundaries. Northmoor Community Diner – open to all
The idea behind the Diner is to create a welcoming space for anyone to take a seat, enjoy a freshly cooked meal, meet members of their community and find out what’s going on in the area. The Diner has a Level 5 Food Hygiene rating and is open to everyone in the community every Wednesday 12-2pm. There is a different meat (halal) dish, vegetarian dish and cake cooked every week by our staff and volunteers. There are no set prices for the food but we do accept donations to help keep the service open. Click here to see more: Northmoor Community Diner
Creative Connections – age 16+
Creative Connections was started in January 2019 with an aim to enhance the health and wellbeing of the members. It is a group for adults to come and explore their creativity at their own pace, or they can just come and have a cup of tea and a chat. There is no pressure and no experience needed, just friendly people who also like being creative! The group runs every Tuesday 10am-12pm all year round; it is £1 per session with refreshments and all materials provided for Painting, Drawing, Card Making, Sewing, Crochet and Knitting.
